Hi Laura
I had some friends over for dinner last night and I showed them your beautiful handwriting, and the gorgeous piece of art you sent me. They were blown away.
I love watercolor. Wondering if that is your medium. I will keep it in my writing box, but wanted to make sure it was set in case it were to get any water near it.
Here is a link to “Masquerade” - the best show I have tickets to see soon.

A part of the show is performed outside. There are pictures floating around the internet with a birds-eye view of the show from above by apartment dwellers.
Here is the pen I wrote you with. It’s an Aurora “Hastil”. From what I’ve read, they were designed by a famous Italian architect named Marco Zanuso in the late 1960’s, and was exhibited at the MoMA here in NYC where it has remained part of their collection ever since.
I took these pictures at the hotel before I had a chance to give it a nice shine with a polishing cloth.
The DC pen show is huge, and can be overwhelming if you are not sure what you want. I had looked at so many tables and hadn’t got that feeling until I saw this pen, and I knew this was the one I wanted.
Ended up picking it up for $185. Aurora converters are difficult to come buy so he charged me $25 if I wanted to keep the Trik-Trak converter inside. He ended up giving it to me for $200. It was a birthday gift to myself. I purchased the pen and a new Rober Oster ink - “Motor Oil” - which I have been eyeing and got the hell out of there.
i love all of their inks. The colors are so unique and beautiful. This is also the ink I used to write you.
The “Holy Grail” Pen…
I love Mabie Todd. I am very proud of my collection of MT eyedroppers. Although I haven’t ever purchased any, I am very interested in early Onotos. The English made really beautiful pens. They are not easy to come by here in the US, so most I’ve gotten from England.
